Rudolph Albert Huthsteiner was a famous german portrait, genre, landscape, architecture and interior painter from the Düsseldorf School around the turn of last century. He made several portraits of german nobles, e.g. the king of Württemberg Wilhelm II.
A very interesting fact is, that Rudolph, who was born in Düsseldorf, lived in Stuttgart and was an arts professor in Munich, visited the small town Osterhofen in Lower Bavaria and created some paintings about the very famous abbey there. This place is quite close (less than 20 km) to locations where all my ancestors lived at that time. Wondering whether he ever recognized that there are also Hutsteiners living around this place, too ?
