Cowpox virus (used for protective pox vaccination)

Dr. Georg Friedrich Huthsteiner was one of the first in the region of Siegen to do a protective pox (=cow pox) vaccination. Thus he saved thousands of children and protected them against smallpox mid of 1801, only 5 years after the discovery of this vaccination.
